Please note that a flotation suit alone does not guarantee rescue. It serves as a buoyancy aid and protects against hypothermia. Depending on the water temperature, it delays the onset of hypothermia, thus creating a buffer for rescue. From a safety perspective, one-piece suits are preferable, as they prevent water from circulating inside. This allows the water to be warmed by body heat, forming an insulating layer. Wearing suitable undergarments is also recommended. These suits also protect against the initial shock of cold upon falling into the water. The suits have a buoyancy of 50N. An average person needs 20-30N to stay afloat. It is therefore more important to have a better fit than to choose the exact weight class.
